Founded in 1982, the Houston Food Bank has been the fastest growing food bank in the nation. Every week around 137,000 people are fed and annually 50 million nutritious meals are given to those in need. The Houston Food Bank is the nations largest size Feeding America food bank in it’s new 308,000 square-foot facility. It provides food for 18 different counties that are spread out across the greater Houston area.

Plus the food bank does much more than just providing for those who are in need, and offers many other services. The Houston Food Bank not only provides food assistance for those in need but they also provide education on the issue, food stamp applications, and even hands on job training.
